The Foreflight flight planning website provides users with a comprehensive Navigation Log that displays various details about their flight, including route of flight, headings, distances, and more. However, for VFR flights, this log can sometimes become cluttered with unnecessary information, making it difficult to read during the flight. Reformat NavLog aims to solve this problem by reformatting the HTML in the Navigation Log.

By removing unnecessary columns and adding blank rows between existing rows, Reformat NavLog allows for easier copying and pasting of the log into spreadsheet software like Excel or Google Sheets. This streamlines the process of creating a customized Nav Log that suits your specific needs. While some technical knowledge is required to use this extension, it offers a faster alternative to manually working with the original log.

To use Reformat NavLog, simply log into your Foreflight account, navigate to the Flights section, and display your NavLog. Right-click in the NavLog and choose "View Frame Source." Delete the "view-source:" text from the URL in the browser's address bar and hit Enter. The NavLog will now fill the page. Click the Format NavLog icon, followed by the Format NavLog button. The NavLog will be reformatted, displaying only the following columns: Waypoint, HDG, LEG (distance), LEG (time), ETE, and ACT (blank). You can then copy and paste the reformatted NavLog into Google Sheets or Excel, where you can further customize it according to your preferences.
